Pros

The people on my team are nice. That’s about it

Cons

- Leadership is completely lost and uninspiring: CEO doesn’t know anything about tech and AI innovation. Why’s he getting paid over $100 million a year salary? Only knows how to cut costs by taking things from the minions. He is hiring a bunch of sr. VPs to do the “innovating” and they’re all left overs that failed in their previous roles at Google Cloud. All of them are so uninspiring and fake. All this leadership team can do is pay astronomical prices to acquire other companies. In-house innovation is dead at Workday - Dead stock: stock is going nowhere. Even when we announce layoffs and acquisitions, it doesn’t even go up - No longer customer-centric: They still say customers are a core value but it’s actually not true at all. PMs no longer address customer enhancement requests and just do whatever the confused leadership tells them to which is pump out agents that our customers don’t even want - Cutting our benefits one by one: cut our $50 monthly wellness credit, cut travel budget, cut bagels, cut team event budgets, cut mid-year promotions & raises, and now health insurance costs have increased by 3x - Lack of recognition: You can work yourself like crazy and not get any recognition because you’re not working on the sexy buzzwords leadership is currently obsessed about. They also cut mid-year promotion and raise cycle this year. Morale is down the drain and feels like there’s no point in working hard - Silent layoffs: every month there are silent layoffs (to avoid WARN notice) and top performers are impacted by these causing confusion and panic. Everyone’s thinking whether they’re next - Offshoring like crazy: Watch out if you’re based out of the USA because if you’re training someone in India, you’re next on the chopping block. Company doesn’t care about quality and customer satisfaction anymore, they just want to cut operating costs

Pros

Excellent engineering talent and knowledgeable coworkers. Strong engineering culture with high code quality standards. Modern technology stack and opportunities to work on large-scale enterprise software. Good work-life balance compared to many tech companies. Competitive compensation, benefits, and employee perks. Collaborative environment with supportive teammates. Opportunities to learn new technologies and grow technically. Stable development processes and mature SDLC practices. Strong emphasis on testing, code reviews, and software quality. Flexible work arrangements (depending on team).

Cons

Large organization means decision-making can be slow. Significant amount of process and bureaucracy before changes reach production. Cross-team dependencies can slow delivery. Career growth can depend on organizational priorities and manager support. Frequent reorganizations can shift priorities and disrupt long-term projects. Innovation may move slower than at smaller startups. Internal tools and processes can sometimes feel overly complex. Communication between teams can occasionally be inconsistent. Like much of the tech industry, the company has experienced layoffs, creating uncertainty for some employees. Promotions can take time and require navigating multiple approval levels.
