Pros

The Kitchen - Spotless environment

Cons

I worked at Xplor for a short period in 2024. While the workplace is fast-paced and KPI-driven, my experience highlighted several structural issues that candidates should be aware of. The recruitment process was inconsistent: I was contacted months after my initial applications, and the role was offered without the usual reference checks that most UK employers require. Training and onboarding were limited. Expectations were high from the first days, but the support provided did not match the pace required. This created a gap between what was demanded and the tools given to succeed. Another challenge was the lack of consistency in how support was distributed among staff. I observed clear differences in how some employees received guidance, coaching and tolerance for mistakes, while others were expected to “catch up” on their own. This created an uneven environment where performance wasn’t always assessed on equal terms.Feedback was sometimes contradictory, and although I requested additional one-to-one training, it was not provided. When I experienced a health issue during probation, the company chose to terminate my contract immediately. While legally acceptable, it did not feel supportive or employee-focused. Xplor may suit candidates who thrive under pressure, learn extremely quickly, and are comfortable in a very metric-focused environment. Those who expect structured training, consistent communication, and equal support across team members may find the culture difficult.

Pros

I still get to work with the team I was acquired with (those who weren't unceremoniously canned at least).

Cons

-Insists on a hyper rigid corporate model, and it shows everywhere. In product development, leadership, HR. There's so much bureaucracy and rigidity in getting an answer to anything and all it means at the end of the day is that everyone you go to for help or clarification will pass the buck to the next guy. -Zero regard for employees as people. These people are cheap cheap cheap. It shows in salaries and benefits (worst US medical premium coverage I've ever seen), but also in subjecting employees to using terrible outdated tools, and in laying people off at a moment's notice with no regard for them or the workloads of those left behind. HR/People team where it seems like nobody knows what to do or how to help; everything is someone else's job. -It is a mess internally. It's a company made up of 20+ other products/brands, and nobody's talking to each other because nobody even can talk to each other. Everyone's on different systems, different payroll, different Slack, different Teams, two different versions of every policy, it's a joke. -It's depressing as hell watching them buy up other companies, fire half of them, and suck the soul out of those left behind. -I had a job I loved before we merged with Xplor. It's been less than a year here now and I cannot get out of here fast enough.
