Pros

There are no pros for Go Ahead or any of its subsidiaries - avoid at all costs; don't make the same mistake as me

Cons

It is unusual that I would ever call a person or company toxic but there is no more appropriate term that I would give a company, its subsidiaries and its senior managers and directors within. The majority of these individuals appear to be driven by the desire to bully and exclude others who do not take part in this culture. I have seen this first hand over many years in many locations at many of their subsidiaries. One particular 'highlight' was a competition between 3 managers who could fire the most employees. This sums of Go Ahead completely. The majority of managers and directors completely lack empathy and are only focused on creating a culture of division and hatred forgetting about the human impact of their decisions. If you are thinking of ever working for them turn around now and save yourself. #MeToo

If your face fits

Pros

Some nice people @ Eastleigh

Cons

Management are very clicky. If your face fits then you are welcome but it tends to be the 'old boys brigade' People get promoted when they have done something inappropriate. People are sacked for trivial things but other staff can right off buses/coaches, knock people over but remain in the job, whereas some that have had a couple of bumps get the sack, how does that work! Money isn't that great compared to working in other areas, should have a standard rate of pay across the whole of the go ahead group. High turnover of staff. Unprofessional and senior staff do not have management and HR skills so use their position as bullying and intimidation.

Pros

There are no pros when working for Go Ahead or its subsiduaries

Cons

I am going to list a few 'highlights' and let you make up your own decision. - I witnessed sexual harassment to an interviewee - I witnessed jovial point-scoring for managers who fired the most drivers - I witnessed abuse of other employees who were shouted at and sworn at, the 'c' word included which was endorsed by a director. - I witnessed abuse of a trans member of staff behind their back - I was part of a culture that discouraged valid expense claims (when I started on a starting salary of £18k, so it wasn't as if I was comfortable). - I was part of a culture that would encourage you to work for nothing in your free time - evenings, weekends etc (I was even called whilst on leave!) - I was part of a culture that discouraged you to take any leave - annual or otherwise. You would regularly end the year with surplus leave that just disappeared. - I witnessed a discussion about how a pregnant lady could be fired because of having morning sickness - I was part of a culture with zero regard for yours or others' health and safety - I witnessed a general manager launder cash - I was part of a culture where if your face didn't fit they would go on a fishing trip to find something against you and if they didn't find anything they would set you up to fail - I witnessed someone being disciplined over something he had clear authorisation to do the accused thing (no action taken subsequently). - A senior manager at an operating company was fired for mis-accounting - I was asked to fire certain members of staff by senior management, regardless of my opinion and regardless of any defence that that member of staff could have presented. - I witnessed TUPE discussions that were based on the staffs' like/dislike by others I worked in four different operating companies and found them all to be the same. Everything I have said is true and I hope this can stop others going anywhere near this company. For 4 years I had zero progression in a very poorly paid job where few people respected each other. The best thing I did was leave. Get out now if you can!
