Pros

* Easy to get a job here - we had multiple employees join the team that didn't have the skills required * No incentive to do a good job - I'll list as a positive for those who just want a pay cheque and are not really bothered about the work they do

Cons

Specifically during COVID: * Despite being one of the few departments here that could do the job remotely, we were the first back into the office full time in June 2020 in defiance of Government instruction (no split working, it was a full office) * Screens did not extend past the end of the desk, and were removed in January 2021 And the rest: * Whisper culture - management intentionally preventing the team from contributing * No documentation, but employees criticised when work doesn't meet unknown expectations * Management able to produce work of a standard that is unacceptable from the rest of the team * Employees allowed to turn up late, stop working half an hour early every day, spend half the day on phones etc * Incredibly inefficient work practices, suggestions to improve ignored * Online platforms rolled out with critical issues, with the team left to deal with the mess * No proper work criteria to meet - it's always down to arbitrary dates, rather than work milestones * Standard development practices nowhere to be seen * I was often unable to complete given tasks due to system issues - which management ignored I also caught wind of derogatory comments directed towards myself by management through the work-administered chat system. Bringing this up was deemed unacceptable, obviously this treatment of colleagues is fine here. I'm definitely not the first person to bring up the inappropriate conduct and unprofessional atmosphere present in the office.

Pros

The rates of pay are high and when overtime is available you will earn well in excess of £30,000 per annum

Cons

The pay is high, which attracts vultures, nasty environment to work in. I have never come across so many back stabbers in one Factory. Would not recommend my worst enemy to work here. GIVE THEM A VERY WIDE BERTH
