Pros

Your able to work however much you want

Cons

I’ve held off saying this for a while, but my experience with Hived has become increasingly frustrating and disheartening. Yes, some days are manageable — but those days are rare. The reality is that most days are extremely difficult, and quite frankly, the way things are run feels inhumane. The routes we’re given often come loaded with an overwhelming number of parcels, and it’s blatantly obvious from the start that either you’re going to be out working 13 to 14 hours — pushing your body beyond what’s reasonable — or you’re forced to call for a rescue. And when you do, not only do you not receive the full pay for the day, but you’re still charged for the van hire. That means you’ve broken your back all day for what ends up being barely worth it financially, if at all. This kind of system isn’t sustainable or fair. It feels like we’re being set up to fail, or to just scrape by. There needs to be more consideration for the people doing the actual work on the ground. You can’t just keep loading drivers with impossible routes and expect them to quietly carry the burden, both physically and financially. Something has to change. This current system is burning people out.

Treat people like their disposable

Pros

Honestly not much, except from maybe a few good eggs stuck on the hamster wheel too, scared of rebuttal for being honest.

Cons

The culture is geared towards a stay in your box unless they open the lid. It's advertised they want people who are ambitious, want to challenge, get their hands in, and improve things. But in reality they fundamentally don't. They want yes mam, no sir mentality, do only what you're told, jump the hoops, and you'll prob be alright, but try to see the light outside your box and they'll fire you faster than you can say peanuts. The management, senior team and especially the founders show absolute no empathy for the people they employ or let go.

Pros

They provide decent laptop for some of the employees.

Cons

Senior Leadership completely negligent and Senior only on the job title but definitely not by experience. Line Manager having 1:1 during cigarette breaks with no intention of absorbing feedback or acting on anything. Absolutely no documentation whatsoever of team feedback. Many times when receiving a feedback of a process that is not working, the classic response was “ That’s good practice” with no intention of supporting the team to perform better. Incredible unprofessional environment with a college vibes where bullying, harassment and racism is allowed if you’re friend with the manager. Slack is used to massage people’s egos.
