Pros

Over a 100+ year period this incredible group of the aviation industries most reputable airlines have continually made a difference in their efforts to make the world more accessible. The sales team in IAG Cargo LHR work hard on a daily basis to continue that legacy despite the narcissistic abuse and predatory behaviour they are subjected to on a daily basis by one individual.

Cons

It is concerning when new starters are informally made aware, from an early stage in their employment, that colleagues within the sales team have either left the business, taken periods of extended leave related to wellbeing concerns, or felt it necessary to raise concerns with senior leadership regarding the working environment and management approach associated with a particular individual. There is also a perception within the team that the requirement for all sales employees to attend two in-person meetings each week has a significant impact on available selling and customer relationship time. Given the importance of revenue generation within the function, some employees feel these meetings may reduce operational efficiency and limit the time available for customer engagement and commercial activity. In addition, concerns have been raised on multiple occasions by both employees and customers regarding behaviours and management practices that are perceived to be inconsistent with the company’s stated values: * Curious Minds * Determined Attitudes * Heartfelt Pride * Collaborative Actions While it is acknowledged that management responsibilities can be challenging and perspectives may differ, the consistency of these concerns across multiple individuals suggests that it may be appropriate for the organisation to review the current working environment, management practices, and their impact on employee wellbeing, morale, and commercial effectiveness. The intention in raising these points is not to make personal allegations, but to highlight themes and perceptions that appear to be affecting team culture, employee experience, and overall performance.
