Pros

Team are deeply serious scientists and practitioners. The leadership team are a great combination of curious, hardworking, precise, and have the chops of the real world. You will likely learn more about how the real world actually operates, than in most other companies.

Cons

Mining and minex is naturally a remote industry. Geos get sent out to literal remote corners of the arctic, so expect there to be some of that. There is an in person office, but the team will be very diversely placed around the world. For some this is also a benefit. So not strictly a con.

Pros

* The caliber of people here is exceptionally high across every discipline. * Despite significant growth, KoBold remains agile; able to move from idea to real-world action quickly. * The culture is interdisciplinary, collaborative, and transparent, built on genuinely great people. * The company remains very ambitious, is resourced appropriately, and tackles very hard problems. * KoBold's ethics aren't just stated values; they're lived out in the everyday workplace. * Leadership is engaged and effective, holding firm on both the company's direction and its standards.

Cons

* Comp is competitive but given the caliber of folks it could be higher.

Pros

** Exceptional leadership that genuinely walks the talk and backs priorities with real time, focus, and investment ** Smart, kind, and modest colleagues with low ego; people are generous with their time and quick to give credit ** Fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with high ownership and real responsibility ** Strong culture of scientific thinking and intellectual honesty ** High transparency, with most internal communication happening in real time on Slack ** Fully remote work with flexibility, and encouragement to use AI to work more effectively ** The interview process can be long and is very thorough, but it's clear they put real effort into getting the right people in the door

Cons

** Not for everyone; the pace is fast and expectations are high ** Limited hand-holding or formal training - people are expected to know their craft and take ownership early ** Fully remote setup can be challenging for those who prefer more structure or in-person mentorship
