Great team, awful company

Pros

My team were mostly great and supportive. Great benefits and training support too.

Cons

too much drama, very young people in leadership positions and people who have been there for too long and set in their ways behaving like dictators - expecting you to skip lunch breaks and work extra hours for nothing. Expected to do the job of two people. HR aren't respected so no point going to them (they probably get a lot of heat from rest of business so feel bad for them sometimes) - made to feel like everything is others fault and not leadership.

Great pay, toxic culture

Pros

The salary is great, above market rate

Cons

There is a toxic culture, it was anticipated that within meetings at least one person would be humiliated in front of the whole team by senior members of staff. They handled Covid poorly, even if you were concerned/hadn’t had a vaccination yet and in some cases had been in close contact with someone testing positive, you were still forced to go into the office every single day. There was a lack of trust of employees, constantly micromanaged and the office environment was unfriendly and unsettling, it was very clear that a lot of people were very unhappy and fearful of their own managers. Things were very slow paced and backwards, especially for a tech company in London.

Toxic, Stressful, Non-inclusive, Cutthroat, Backward

Pros

There are some talented people in the business, and they have exciting goals

Cons

The leadership at the company consistently demonstrates disrespect and a dismissive attitude. The HR department, lacking autonomy, fails to protect employee confidentiality, leading to trust issues. Inconsistencies in policy enforcement and poor conflict resolution contribute to high turnover. Additionally, leadership ignores employee feedback, adopting a "we know best" stance, which undermines employee morale and signals a fundamental issue with the company's management and approach to employee relations.
