Pros

- Working for something you're passionate for - Having an opportunity to help people and try to make a difference

Cons

- The pay is way, way, way below what it should be for the massive responsibilities you have - The training is non existent. You are thrown into the middle of things, expected to know everything, and when you ask for training you are either passed from pillar to post, or told "deal with it. It's your job" - Expected to work weekends and overtime with no extra pay. - Expected to work 60+ hours a week, when your contract is only around 40. - Some volunteers are okay. But a lot will try and make your life incredibly difficult. Management doesn't care. - Line managed by about 5 different people, all of whom want something different and can't agree, then shout at you if you listen to someone else - Break workplace safety and employment laws all the time, and threaten to fire you if you complain about working conditions for "not being loyal" - Get no credit if you do anything right, but get blamed behind your back if you make a mistake - Managers are prone to gossiping about you behind your back to other staff members and volunteers. - You get chucked out after an election when they don't need you anymore, without any support to find another job - No work/life balance. Your life is expected to revolve around work. - No respect or tolerance for mental health it disability. You will be forced to do something even if it hurts you. DO NOT TAKE THIS JOB
