Users say... "No progression" "could be better salary but they are not far off market." "Managers do not know what they're doing." "Very poor management and poor salary" "It's way too hard to get rid of poor performing employees (of which there are quite a few); Internal applicants tend to be preferred for jobs over external candidates which sounds good in practice but then it makes it hard to inject any new ideas or creativity from the private sector into a typically outdated Council, thus resulting in some quite bad lower/mid level management; Some of the projects and work cost a lot of money but actually deliver very little; There are some employees that have been there for way too long that add nothing; Very rarely do you see or get to speak to anyone in a leadership position; Employees are very demotivated due to lack of leadership and years of frozen pay; Although this may be stating the obvious, everything is controlled by Councillors"
