The level of commitment by employees is remarkable, especially given the culture. The pay is very competitive, hence why people don’t generally leave.
Cons
Being a championship winning team I was expecting to find extremely high levels of innovation across all functions and the best people, however what I found was a team that was arrogant, lacking efficiency, with poor performing departments and an unimaginable lack of innovation in regards to its working practices. In this day and age to witness senior level professionals display a complete lack of understanding of the benefits of modern day working practices such as flexible working is a disgrace, hence why there is minimal female representation across the team. The team operates on a disgraceful level of rewarding results/performance over behavioural standards, regardless of its ‘so called’ core behavioural standards and is in complete denial of its arrogance, truly believing that it is a humble, modest team. Senior management are grossly over inflated in regard to ego, salary and ‘old school’ male mentally. It is not a professional organisation of a modern age and an utter disgrace frankly that people are made to feel lucky to work there and often treated badly and pushed to the limits physically and mentally. If you challenge this, or are unable to maintain you are seen as, and indeed discussed as being weak. Disgusting. You should all be ashamed of the culture you have created under the guise of world champions. A culture of presenteeism with childlike behaviours and attitudes.
