      Terrible Onboarding Experience

      Pros

      Was at the company less than four months, in a remote capacity, and my onboarding experience was terrible.

      Cons

      No culture at the corporate headquarters. Mid level Managers aren't prepared to manage people. Communication is not good.

      Pros

      Middle management are skilled and knowledgeable working hard to improve the company, which translates into their employees caring about the work they do as well. Friendly and helpful coworkers for a real team.

      Cons

      The facility is old. Floor equipment is run down and needs replacing; offices need refurbishment. Basic benefits, no performance based incentives, no pay raises. No real opportunities for promotion if you aren't brought in as a manager.

      Solid company, a bit slow to change, loyal to employees.

      Pros

      Modine is a solid place to work. They treat people with respect. Managers seem to build friendships with their workers, not just work but personal connections. Salary and benefits are good, not top of the industry, but fair and balanced. Engineers seem to build long and lasting careers here with Modine. Modine invests in new technologies and R&D to develop new ideas, and prides themselves on owning the design process themselves, including intensive R&D testing.

      Cons

      Slow to embrace new changes. Work ethic, even in office, is "rough around the edges". Some of their products are in a challenging manufacturing industry, and this challenge about where to manufacture is tough for the company. I don't know how to express this, but it needs to be "brighter" in the office. I don't mean just lighting, but attitude, morale, and office culture. It wasn't super down, but I felt like energy was lacking from people in engineering, in the office.

      The younger workforce coming in is great, they just don't have a voice and anyone who has been there a long doesn't find them credible

      70 year old white male conservative mindset with how the culture is run No diverse workforce If you want any sort of life, this is not the place for you. Leaving my cubical for lunch for 30 minutes was frowned upon. This place looks and feels like prison. Low energy of employees, and the colors and layout of the building are dull and depressing. No windows or natural light coming in. Higher management doesn't like hearing feedback about this because they don't see the issue with it (we aren't in the 1900's anymore people). Very judge mental and catty employees in some departments Managers would prefer to hand all their work down to you and (passive aggressively) expect you to be in the office 9-10 hours and then continue to work from home on evenings and weekends. I had so much work (which, I like staying busy, but there's a point of abusing your employees) I wasn't able to see family and my health started to deteriorate and I had to make a change. If you do give any feedback on things that Could possibly need change, be prepared to be looked down upon Managers are bosses, not leaders I felt like a hamster in a wheel here. Life isn't about waking up, going to work, coming home, sleeping and repeat. Higher management acts very immature when you give your notice to leave

      Good for learning. Pay. Good coworkers. Growth. Work was somewhat interesting.

      Engineering managers are cliquey. Hard to connect if not similar tot them.

      Most coworkers are pleasant and hardworking people.

      Terrible supervisors and managers. This company does not promote or hire the right people to lead and train new employees.
