Good company from outside - Terrible from inside

Pros

Good compensation and bonus package. Flexible locations and working hours.

Cons

Very immature executive leadership at both SVP and director level, without the capability to define and pursue a winning strategy but rather sitting and waiting for employees to create one. Terrible HR causing simple tasks to become major challenges. Company gatherings twice per year are a very ineffective way to spend a considerable amount of money. Too many changes in the direction of the company and lack of business pressure to create products. Mass layoffs and no attempts to initiate cost reduction initiatives as a way to reduce the number of people impacted.

Pros

Good overall compensation and benefits. Flexible work hours, nice office and free snacks with a daily lunch.

Cons

Company mission changes over and over again. Deadlines are not met because there is no accountability. Some departments need a lot of work while others are doing great work. Lacks office culture and leadership. Weak HR and increasing level of politics.

Good people led by mediocre management

Pros

-Genuinely nice people who care about each other (at least at an IC level) -Good work life balance -Good pay and benefits

Cons

Management (Top and mid) are mediocre at best. They have no vision and are incapable of communicating any sense of direction. This uncertainty creates an infinite amount of opinions coming from ICs and a constant feeling of brainstorming and reviewing without clear decision makers. Nothing gets done and there's a constant feeling of burnout. The culture has become increasingly toxic in the last couple of years with layoffs and opace leadership decisions. ICs are not involved in strategic conversations and are being laid off without any internal communication. No one trusts anyone that sits at a director level and above.
