Great place with great culture but slightly worrying management development.
Pros
Managers of shops are incredibly understanding, and it really feels like a second family when you work there. Everyone is very interested in health and in helping people in general, there is no commission on selling the Nourish-brand stuff so you dont feel a pressure to sell things that people don't need. A generous Christmas bonus (for retail anyway!) They will give promising sales staff management training if they want to go up in the company. A lot of trust is put into sales staff. Pay and a half for sunday work and double for bank holidays.
Cons
Over the past while head office have become increasingly antagonising. Sometimes it feels like they deliberately put needless pressure on managers in the hopes that it will increase sales, unfortunately this tends to just lead to managers becoming burnt out and agitated, which negatively affects shop morale. They have also recently brought in mandatory uniforms which make it seem even more like a multi-national health store chain that a lot of the customers want to avoid, despite it still being an Irish, family-run business.
