Pros

Flexible working and work life balance, helpful colleagues

Cons

A small consultancy company who have morphed from a handful of 'management consultancy' types who unfortunately have not grown their capability in line with headcount growth. There’s been high employee turnover of good people in this part of the business (Innovation Services) which is an indicator that something is amiss. Strategic programs need to be funded, developed and resourced. A discretionary bonus scheme that is so discretionary it no one knows what the tops down objectives and goals are to be able to contribute towards them rather than just make them as you go along. The management team need to improve their capability to lead, motivate and set direction rather than the ever present threat of getting your P45 unless the monthly sign up numbers are met – this doom and gloom mantra is getting stale now. There’s no career advancement to speak of and no long term future here. The good people see the writing on the wall and are looking elsewhere or have left.

Pros

My colleagues were professional and helpful. Flexible working environment

Cons

The management team in general were not up to the job . I believe some of them failed at running their own company , so they weren't best placed to be advising others who did. The MD running innovations services at the time (who has since left) had an inflated sense of his own capability , he wasn't particularly confidential and he spoke negatively to about employees to others sometimes in public settings and he generally liked the sound of his own voice - took the credit for others success. I was made redundant along with many others when the company lost the Government's Growth Accelerator contract - however I really hated working here and I am now employed elsewhere in a much more supportive company environment.
