Pros

Decent Pay Good coworkers Good direct management Some decent benefits (but probably won't last)

Cons

Until a couple of months ago I'd have had very little to put here, but the Thoma Bravo has decided at last that it's time to throw their weight around. They ousted the old executive staff that built the company into what it is and brought in their own hatchet man with a "suck it up or leave" attitude. Forced return to office after almost 4 years of full flexibility. Not willing to listen to concerns as his loyalty is not to the employees but to generate short term profits for Thoma Bravo. Whether Proofpoint sinks after it's sold is not their concern. I would not advise anyone to join the company at this stage if they have any other prospects as even the staff currently here are either looking out or half expecting to be laid off to give the company finances a quick boost before sale.

Pros

The products are rather advanced compared to the industry, otherwise not many pros to mention. The sales compensation plan as well as the benefits in the UK are rather average.

Cons

They try to match almost every salary expectations because nobody is interested in a career with them. In the beginning they blind new employees with nice trips to the US but often unhelpful training and then let them work totally unsupported. Support from 1st. line management is mostly non-existent, even for important sales related decisions. There is no culture, other than bullying, back-stabbing and hostility in the Reading office. In general the work-environment is rather ridiculous and anything else but professional. The Reading UK office is also based in a business park which is rather hard to reach, often clogged with traffic jams or unreliable public transport.

Pros

Initially a very good place to work, great team spirit and collaboration plus opportunities to learn and progress. This unfortunately changed quickly.

Cons

- Huge HR violations (alcoholism and grotesque sexual harassment), which the entire team were aware of, were swept under the carpet by management because the culprits were hitting targets. - Big switch to micromanagement - Mass issuing of PIPs to motivate sales reps through intimidation
