The job is fun (loads of interaction with visitors, and demos and shows for kids and families). Fellow explainers and VE team are great colleagues to work with. Free tickets for other museums and exhibitions (reciplrocal admission scheme). Diverse and inclusive team,

Cons

London Living Wage and starting/finishing times don´t go well toghether due to the high cost of transport. Managers follow pretty much a hierarchical model and don´t take in suggestions from employees. AirCon in Wonderlab gallery has not worked for the last 4 summers and it´s still unfixed. It's imposible to take holidays when you want due to short staffing. Staff retention is very low and there is a chronic situation of short staffed galleries which bring the team to even more stress. Close to zero career oportunities.
