Pros

Totally professional team. Maintain units and trailers well. Lots of help and support from team trainers, free CPC, pay for any medical that may need to be done. They will be flexible on working times (time you may need to have time off for family or personal reasons). They like drivers to be flexible and if you put yourself out for them, it Willbe reciprocal.

Cons

One of the best companies to work for. Very very seriously do they take any infringement on HSE or company policies or working time infringements etc. and you could be out the door. And rightly so!

Pros

I worked in the Warehouse for 8 months. I made A lifelong friend, and I did personally enjoy the jobs physical demands.

Cons

Sexual Harassment and Discrimination - Daily sexual harassment from managers and employees alike, and there is an openly racist culture that fails to protect employees from harassment and discrimination. Unsafe Working Conditions - Coworkers would operating forklifts under the influence of drugs or alcohol create an unacceptably hazardous environment. Inhumane Performance Expectations - Employees are required to meet high performance standards akin to being "a rat in a cage." This includes wearing wrist trackers to monitor every movement, resulting in constant pressure to perform at unsustainable levels. Discrimination Against Older and Disabled Employees - The job demands are said to be so physically strenuous that those with disabilities or older employees may find it impossible to meet expectations, effectively excluding them from employment opportunities. Inadequate Breaks - Though a half-hour break is technically provided, procedural delays reportedly leave employees with only 15 minutes to eat or rest. This is insufficient for maintaining health and well-being during long shifts. Penalised for Basic Needs - Employees allegedly face disciplinary action or lowered performance scores for taking bathroom breaks, further dehumanising the workplace experience. Lack of Work-Life Balance- Running for eight hours a day under these conditions contributes to physical and mental exhaustion, making the job untenable for many. Union Complicity - The union meant to represent workers’ rights is reported to have been effectively "bought out" by Tesco, functioning more like an extension of the employer rather than advocating for employees.

Pros

- Good pay - There evidently are better-paid HGV Class 1 positions available, but for your average Class 1 role pay was good. 15PH first 8.5 Hours after which time and a half pay PH. - Canteen is very fairly priced, the ladies are always very kind and happy to serve you, food is good and varied.

Cons

- I've seen first-hand how management use drivers as scapegoats. - Transport clerks are poorly trained in Transport. I've heard their salaries are quite low so they might be happy with what talent they can find on their budget. - Transport office rarely show empathy towards drivers. Even if you're the exception, always on-time for your shift, have no accidents, you're still put in the same basket with all the bad eggs in their eyes. Unfortunately. - Relatively no professional opportunities as a HGV driver. There are some openings occasionally for Driver Trainers or Assessors, however, it's awarded on a length of employment basis. If you've been with them for under 4 years don't expect any opportunities. - Tesco strictly adheres to policy - That's all that matters to them. Have your PPE on at all times - HI-VIZ zipped up! If you die on the job and your HI-Viz isn't zipped up - they use it to put the blame on you! It's all in their policy. - The Union works for Tesco - Not you. It's just paid for by you.
