Not worth it

Pros

Good office location, they hire with no experience so good way to start

Cons

Where to begin… cons include but are not limited to: - Micromanagement - Senior management is not trained/cut out to handle their roles which leads to lack of support for the team, favouritism, unfair treatment, unprofessionalism… - team members are only blamed for low morale by managers instead of trying to fix issues - Employees are treated like commodities, and are replaceable at any point (they will fire you without a second look if they feel threatened) - work/life balance is inexistant - salary is not competitive

Pros

You learn about the translation industry Gain some PM skills Freelancers are the absolute best and the ones that you will really become your friends Non manager people are great Training is available not to say it's great but is available

Cons

Training doesn't keep up with changes in the company Managers are the absolute worst thing about this company. People that manage teams are just either careless or complete bullys and will make your life miserable because they can and they know they will get away with it. The first rots from the top doesn't it? Sadly the women in charge, team leads and managers are as bad as their male counterparts Do not expect any sympathy for the long hours you will need to put in and the excessive amount of work. Your managers will have meetings with you about it because they have to but they won't care or do anything with your feedback If you bring up low salaries or impossible workload and they even hear you talking about it with your peers you will be branded as having an attitude by your team lead or manager and gossiped about through the entire company They refuse to give any raises yet once you resign it's suddenly the first thing they can give you They are now recruiting in Manchester and Portugal to probably save money so don't even bother applying if you work in bigger cities. Pay is not going to be enough for you to have a life They let you work from home but but you need to buy your own equipment. So for the little amount of money they pay you they expect you to be there so they can breathe down your neck Make no mistake you will be watched and asked about e-mails you sent all day everyday. Same for every cent you pay. Do not expect much progression. If you started as a PM you will be expected to die as a PM. If you make the right friends you might move up but it will take forever to do so. Might as well resign and get better pay and a better job while you wait.

Pros

-Lots of learning opportunities if you don't have much industry experience. A lot of training materials and resources from a huge range of clients and processes. -At least in my team, good culture and relaxed, encouraging managers. High expectations but no micromanagement. -Flexible WFH policy (with some cons). -Opportunities to move laterally to other departments if you're interested in different work.

Cons

-Pretty low base salary, only reviewed if you get a promotion (after a year and half from hiring). No adjustments for inflation. -Health benefits are pretty basic, only a cashback option unless you're very senior. -Only 20 days of holiday per year -Expected to work some bank holidays (although these days are compensated with extra holidays) -You can work from the office full time, or from home 3 days a week, but since it's optional, no equipment is provided for WFH and the remote connection is slow, which makes it painful to do remote work sometimes -Most days, you only manage to get all your work done if you skip lunch or leave late -Was given extra responsibilities very early on with not much training on the new tasks or extra compensation -Not much diversity in the London office
