Stuck in the dark ages

Pros

Nice offices with good facilities Excellent benefits package, flex 35 option and good annual leave allowance. Friendly international and enterprise colleagues

Cons

Company is stuck in the past, severely outdated technology and processes. No structured career progression pathways. Staff micromanaged in multiple departments, no interest in new ideas. Too many senior management stale and winding down on easy phased retirement plans with no energy or enthusiasm to embrace new ideas or methods. Lack of governance. Too many critical documents just held in excel. Projects managed as fire fighting and chaos rather than organised approach. Lack of decent project management software. Cult like approach to forcing people back to the office but with no tangible benefits to do so. London office now very unpleasant to work in, everyone crammed in on top of each other, sitting on endless calls on headsets ignoring each other. This is not workplace culture people appreciate!

Getting worse!

Pros

Colleagues (the few that remain) are nice!

Cons

Yet more decent and skilled people continue to leave - I attended a large Broker event recently and sat on a table with 5 ex Travelers staff. ALL are excellent, all are flying and all left or were made redundant. Travelers were not at the event, when pretty much the rest of the market was represented. Oh dear! Company seems to have lost its way and relevance in the UK Not convinced anyone has an idea how to turn it around.

Pros

Flexible working hours and training isn't too bad.

Cons

Morale is at an all time low due to cut backs and redundancies. Company will pay for unnecessary flights for unnecessary meetings for managers but won't keep a low costing coffee machine for regular staff. The US parent company is considered the most important and the UK a sideline. Employees treated like children in a school environment and given no real input. Some teams given preferential treatment and others expected to cater to this. Cant emphasize enough : Stay away from this company.
