Pros

Can't think of any of the top of my head. Regular income.

Cons

A culture of blame,of greed and a misguided belief in actually thinking that they care for the children and their employees. It's all about how much profit can be squeezed from local authorities and of their own workforce.

Thanks for your review. Our level of care and education for our children is of course inspected and rated by Ofsted. We are extremely proud of the fact we have the highest percentage of schools and homes rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted, of any provider in the UK. We are also the highest paying employer in our sector as we recognise that our teams are talented, passionate and proud of the difference we make to children's lives.

Disappointing

Pros

Hard working staff team, friendly colleagues and free lunches

Cons

Profit focussed company with poor regard for staff. The use of the Bradford factor here is really bad. You can be genuinely unwell, and still have your pay capped for the following year. I knew I was signing up to support pupils who display challenging behaviours, and I have lots of prior experience in that field. Nothing prepared me for the shocking behaviour systems and paper pushing work load. The use of blooms taxonomy to assess children’s learning is also not great. It was all a valuable experience, but overall demoralising, disappointing and something I won’t return to. I became so rundown and mentally unwell here. Countless injuries with nothing done about them. There’s also frequent malice between staff which was at times, perpetuated by management. Additionally, the breaks are shocking. 20minutes!!! They really stick to legal minimums at WG when it suits them!

Pros

Staff benefits programme, amazing hard working staff and team players on the shop floor.

Cons

Undervalued, understaffed, bad management from the top, establishments are run from a desk at the top with little say in school. Trying to get new IT to be able to do your job is like pulling teeth, no value for what you do when you go above and beyond. Penalised for being off for childcare reasons which goes unpaid and goes on your absence record, regardless of the hard work you put in day to day, which for a company that looks after children is questionable. No trust in staff. Not flexible. computer says no is pretty much the answer given for any request - including flexible working. Brilliant staff leaving because they have been treated badly. Staff well-being is none existent. Rude directors whose manner with the staff on the ground is beyond disgraceful.
