Pros

It's slightly better than being unemployed.

Cons

Poor pay, horrible office, lack of leadership, any creative thinking is shouted down, too much arrogance that their way is the correct way, people are allowed to get away with bullying, people are promoted way above their ability based on either brown nosing management or by trying to get other people in to trouble, archaic systems, constant change in management team, constant threat of redundancy, poor benefits package. The worst place I've ever worked, including my part time college job cleaning toilets!

Pros

You will appreciate good companies once you quit Zurich Insurance

Cons

Very toxic environment with employees not having seen much diversity. Hence if you are not native to the UK you get treated atrociously. Exit interview was the funniest farce I’ve seen. The person interviewing was not even from HR. He was essentially reporting into the person who was the reason I quit. I’m sure the report went directly into the bin. The person who was the reason for me quit had a meeting me on my last day, to threaten me that I’m xx years old hence time is running out for my career. Could not believe the ageism. But very glad I got out.

Micro managing hell

Pros

Got paid on time Met a handful of nice humble and hardworking people

Cons

Confliction of instructions and statements daily from excessive micro managing. Often treated as a kid or not trusted to do work whilst taking onboard the job of 2 or more people. Hardworkers are rewarded by picking up the slack of those who are insufficiently trained (despite being employed by the company for some time), co managing onboard training for new starters who are thrown in the deep end or picking up the slack for those that twiddle their thumbs most of the day, fail to use initiative or be self sufficient, or sit forever in internal calls chatting to their mates. Processes change fortnightly to monthly with work being pushed between WNS and Zurich constantly. Zurich staff are managed by WNS managers who have no scope on anything in the business or even external departments creating a 'them' and 'us' environment. Seniors have no 'real' authority, they are dictated to by management and instead most will go to the extent of delegating out their own caseload. Often best to keep mouth shut as innovation, going above and beyond and providing new ideas accounts for nothing. Personal development is on a face fits basis and there are some malicious and vindictive behaviours that occur if you don't form part of 'the clique' Not uncommon to one moment be put on a pedestal to then simultaneously have the legs kicked out from underneath you or feel like a 3 year old who has been given sweets whilst being told to stand in the naughty corner. Systems and IT software are old and unreliable often crashing disabling or restricting you from working. This is seldom taking into consideration why caseloads are unmanageable. High turnover of staff, too MI focused, have to often lie to customers, highly stressful and demoralising when daily there is an onslaught of complaints!
