Blick Rothenberg Careers – Myth Busters with Jim Brown Aisha Weise-Forbes from our recruitment team is on a mission to talk to people around our business to challenge myths and assumptions for people considering a career in Accountancy and Professional services or even at Blick Rothenberg. Aisha spoke with partner Jim Brown to discuss the importance of working as a team and the visibility of senior management. “I often walk past Directors and Partners while in the office and we have a quick chat…“how are you getting on?” “how was your weekend?”. These moments are a testament to who we are at Blick Rothenberg, friendly people who genuinely care.” Among many of Jim’s nuggets of wisdom is his point on micro interactions. Formal training is important but the informal interactions you’ll have with your team can be just as useful within this industry.

In this episode Aisha chats with Andy Briggs, a Director in our Corporate Tax department, who shares some insight into his own experience at both Big Four and smaller firms. Aisha said “I’m so excited to share this episode of Myth Busters with you because it touches on an assumption I hear a lot. Most people feel this move will offer them more autonomy and variety, but this isn’t always the case.”

London’s Air Ambulance – Royal London Hospital Abseil Last week 11 Blick Rothenberg colleagues abseiled from the highest rooftop helipad in Europe down the side of the Royal London Hospital. The 17th Floor helipad is home to London's Air Ambulance Charity and the abseil was in support of the charity’s ‘Just in Time’ appeal to urgently replace their fleet which is coming to the end of its life. Congratulations to our brave abseilers and many thanks to our friends at London’s air Ambulance charity staff and volunteers for making the day happen. London’s Air Ambulance Charity is our charity of the year.
🌈Happy Pride Month 🌈 Pride is a month-long celebration recognising LGBT+ people in all their diversity. This month we honour and celebrate the LGBT+ community and recognise the progress that has been made towards equality, while also acknowledging that there is still much work to be done. As an diverse and inclusive inclusive and diverse company, we are on a journey to support our employees’ growth in an environment that is free from discrimination. We believe in the power of allyship and creating an inclusive environment enabling people to be authentic and bring their whole selves to work. Our Rainbow Network is just one of our employee groups that works year-round to champion diversity and inclusion across our firm. We are making June more than just a month where we have a different (but fabulous) logo. Equality, diversity and inclusion go far beyond the workplace, which is why Pride is crucial for raising awareness of current issues facing the LGBT+ community. Maybe this year more than ever we need to talk, listen, learn and work towards better understanding of each other.
