The UK Accelerated Settlement Taskforce (AST) has published its final T+1 implementation plan โ a critical step towards realizing faster settlement of securities and the associated benefits around lower counterparty risk, enhanced market efficiency and improved liquidity. Encompassing a Code of Conduct that highlights 12 critical operational actions and 26 recommended actions to ensure a smooth transition, the AST plan also advises that all major changes should be completed by the close of 2026.
