ShareSave Scheme You may have seen coverage in the media about our sharesave scheme. The below explains what it's all about. Thanks to our sharesave scheme, almost 1,000 of our colleagues are splitting a 10.8m payout. Colleagues put away 3.9m over three years through monthly contributions and have been able to buy discounted shares, meaning that their savings have almost tripled. Our Chief People Officer and Stores Director, Amanda Cox said: "We're thrilled our colleagues have this opportunity to become shareholders."
Our business performance We have announced our business performance over the first 6 months of this financial year. The report includes record breaking sales performances, growing market share, ambitious plans focusing on our purpose and values, and our confidence in navigating challenges in the economy by drawing on our strengths. Nick Wilkinson said: "Together we have navigated another period filled with significant and evolving external challenges and delivered a very strong performance in the first half, with continued growth in customer numbers, further market share gains, record sales and particularly strong profitability." Thank you to our colleagues and our customers for making this possible. We look to the future excited, energised and eager to continue being our customer's 1st choice for home. We are proud of all our colleagues for embracing the gift of giving at Christmas. Through our Dunelm stores and their local Facebook Community Groups, we launched our Delivering joy campaign to give help to those who may be struggling over the festive season and raising awareness of people in need. Each of our Community Groups teamed up with local care homes, primary schools and refuges to ensure that the lonely and those who many not see anyone over Christmas, or receive a gift, are not forgotten. The campaign was launched by our Community team at head office in Syston, Leicestershire and every store was provided with a Christmas tree which were positioned at each store’s click and collect station and held tags with names of people receiving the gift and all the wrapping paper needed for an event night, which involved all colleagues wrapping the gifts before getting out into the communities to make the donation. In total we donated over 18,000 gifts to those in need at Christmas. We are so proud of our colleagues for going above and beyond for their local communities.
So, it’s 2021 – a new year, a fresh start, and a great chance for us to get ahead on our sustainability journey. There’s lots going on in the sustainability space, but read below to see what's going on now... Electricals Take Back Scheme 💡 Did you know that discarded electricals are the fastest growing waste stream in the world? Well, from 18th January, customers and colleagues who have purchased a new electrical item from us from this date onwards, can bring the old like for like electrical item back to their Dunelm nearest store when it reopens. Everything with a plug, battery, or cable can be recycled and turned into something new! Mattress & Furniture Recycling ♻️ We’re continuing to promote our wonderful partnerships with the British Heart Foundation and Clearabee, to help customers responsibly dispose of their old mattress or furniture items. The new partnerships mean that customers can avoid sending products to landfill by recycling large furniture items via Dunelm, and where possible, giving them a second life through sale in British Heart Foundation charity shops.

One of our Business Principles focuses on reducing Waste. We're pretty sure you've all watched the incredible Our Planet documentary that showed it's even more important to consider how we treat our planet. Today on World Environment day we're encouraging all colleagues in Leicester Support Office to bring in any unwanted household items, that we'll collect for The Salvation Army. Our aim as a business is to become more sustainable. What's yours? http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vM9qf
We want to ensure that our colleagues feel recognised, are building and strenghtening relationships across Dunelm and also building a solid professional network. Dean Lafferty came up with the brilliant idea to have recognition cards across our offices to encourage colleagues to celebrate and recognise their peers across all levels. What a fab idea! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vM94B
