With a new year comes... New EG benefits! Employee wellbeing hinges on employers supporting their lives – both in and outside of work. Here’s some of what we’re adding in 2024: ⭐ In addition to parental leave, we want to make the transition back to work a bit easier. New parents will be able to work part-time (while paid for full-time) for 30 days and receive their full pay immediately following their return. ⭐ For employees who have short-term military obligations, we are providing "top-up” pay, allowing them to receive a full paycheck for 30 days of service. ⭐ If their spouse/partner is deployed or activated for military service, we will provide 10 days of military spouse leave. ⭐ While we hope employees don’t have to use it, we are increasing bereavement leave globally for close family to 10 days. We’re delighted to add these elements to our industry-leading benefits package, supporting Expedians in a fulfilling career while staying healthy, happy, and well.

Mental illness affects one in four people and is the leading cause of workplace absences. The Expedia Group Brisbane office recently became the first of our global offices to train 15 teams as Mental Health First Aiders. These responders are now equipped to understand and recognize symptoms of anxiety, depression, panic attacks and more. They also learned key skills, such as how to facilitate empathetic and curious conversations to empower individuals to seek professional help.
