We have partnered with Scope, a disability charity that, as part of its work, supports businesses to become more inclusive of disabled people, creating a fairer society. They have assisted us in making our career paths and people services more accessible to a wider range of talent. As a result of this partnership, we are exceptionally proud to announce we have been awarded Level 3 status from Scope as a Disability Confident Leader and we are one of first luxury retailers to have achieved this award. As a Disability Confident Leader, we will be acting as a champion for disability confidence within our UK business whilst also encouraging our wider business to leverage the learnings throughout our community.
We got the better of the January blues by hosting a global Wellness Week for our employees, which kickstarted on Monday 15th January. The week’s line-up included a combination of wellness themes and activities; starting with mood-boosting movement on Monday. Teams enjoyed both seated and standing movement classes with Pilates At Your Desk. Tuesday saw guest speaker Kellie Nedelcoux give her advice on navigating the tricky balance between parenthood and the world of work. She was followed by Ellie Austin-Williams - ‘This Girl Talks Money’ – who explained the meaning and importance of financial wellbeing. Wellness Week ended with dedicated time for personal reflection, a reminder to our valued teams to make time for themselves. Wellness Week was the first of many global initiatives we have planned for our teams in 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to D&I, last year, we partnered with the disability equality charity Scope. We are thrilled to announce, with support from Scope, that we have been awarded Level 2 status, as a Disability Confident Employer. At Jimmy Choo, we have a committed project team who are undertaking activities and monitoring our progress as we work towards achieving Level 3 status, as a Disability Confident Leader. When this is achieved, we will be a market leader in the luxury industry and we will continue to share updates on our partnership and progress throughout the year.
As part of our ongoing partnership with Scope, we hosted a virtual ‘Workplace Culture Training’ workshop for our employees during disability awareness month. In this session, we had the opportunity to understand some of the challenges disabled people face in securing and retaining employment and how we, as a business, can ‘end the awkward’ around disability. We also hosted a ‘Lived Experience’ workshop last month focused on the social model of disability. Our employees heard from a Scope role model, their workplace experiences and how they can become effective allies. We are proud to be continuing our work towards becoming a Level 2 Disability Confident Employer.
In celebration for our now sold-out Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon collaboration, we’re reflecting on our global launch campaign, particularly limited-edition pop-ups in; Isetan, Selfridges, Las Vegas Forum, China World Mall, Siam Paragon Mall, Galleria Luxury Hall East and our Omotesando, Chengdu and Harbour City flagship boutiques. Visitors to these immersive shopping experiences were able to discover the magic of the collaboration in person. Stunning iridescent fixtures and dynamic window displays inspired by the Pretty Guardian’s dazzling transformations were complemented by bespoke moon-shaped ottomans and colourful scenes from the genre-defying manga series, featuring pieces from the limited-edition Jimmy Choo x Sailor Moon capsule collection. Life-sized Luna cats also featured, providing the ultimate photo op for Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon superfans. We’d like to congratulate all teams involved in bringing these projects to life and extend our thanks to everyone who visited.
We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Scope, the disability equality charity, supporting businesses to become more inclusive of disabled people, creating a fairer society. They have worked with us to make our career paths and people services more accessible to a wider range of talent. As a result of the support Scope have given, we are exceptionally proud to announce we are now a Level 1 Disability Confident employer, making us a market leader in the luxury industry. This certification comes following significant developments in our job profiles, advertising techniques and supportive practices to ensure we can maintain this status and continue to work towards achieving Level 2 and 3. We will continue to share our journey throughout the year with you.
