Volunteering through Kennedys' Thrive Together volunteer programme enhances team cohesion, improves wellbeing and fulfils our employees' need for social connection. One volunteer recently shared - "Volunteering was a very fulfilling experience that helped me connect not only with my team, but the local community too. I would love the opportunity for us to help out again and help more of those in need as we have the resources to do so." Here from Paulina Nabažaité about how employees can get involved in our initiatives and make a difference.

Celebrating Black History Month in the UK, throughout October we’ve focused on encouraging education and discussion around Black history and culture and recognising the contribution and achievements of those with African or Caribbean heritage. On 17 October we were joined by guest speakers Ngozi Weller and Obehi Alofoje - Psychologist for a discussion on psychological safety in the workplace and a fireside chat with Claire Bushen. Thank you to our guest speakers who highlighted how ensuring a safe working environment is foundational to wellbeing and racial equity. We’re also proud to have supported iCAN: The Insurance Cultural Awareness Network's 4th Annual Black-Owned Market – an event dedicated to championing and showcasing black-owned businesses to the insurance industry. In addition there have been themed lunches in some offices, featuring dishes inspired by African and Caribbean cuisines. At Kennedys our Embrace network is vital in fostering an inclusive workplace where heritage and cultural differences are celebrated all year round. Embrace’s aim is to connect and support ethnically diverse colleagues through networking and support, raising awareness and celebrating heritage and cultural diversity.
