Jodie Fogell, Inventory Performance Governance Specialist, recently spoke to 120 A-level students at Southfields Girls School in Kettering. During her talk, Jodie shared her personal journey of embarking on a degree-level apprenticeship with RS. She discussed both the triumphs and challenges she encountered, highlighting the invaluable support provided by RS and the Inventory team throughout her academic journey. Jodie shared, "It was an honour and a privilege to be asked to speak to students at a local school. I remember being in their position just a few years before and there is a lot of pressure to decide what you want to do with your career and what avenues would be the best fit to get there." “My experience at RS during my apprenticeship was incredible, and I was given all the support I needed. Degree apprenticeships aren't always making tea's and coffee's... there's some great work being done around RS and other businesses from apprentices and so it is important that the awareness of that is spread. Southfield's is predominantly attended by females, so I was hoping to somewhat debunk the old-school mentality that businesses are male-oriented too! I'm excited for all of them in taking their next step in their journey." In the UK alone RS have saved their Degree Level Apprentices over £2m in student debt and set these employees up for an outstanding career. 🙌 #WeAreRS #Careers #Apprenticeships #InvestinWomen

Panel host, Samantha MacDonald (Chair of Elevate), shared, "It was great to be joined by four fantastic panellists representing our employee resource groups, Embrace, Bloomers, Women in Sales, and Women in Tech. “There is a slight dichotomy here,” says Helen Alder (FCIPS), Head of Knowledge & Learning Development at CIPS - The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply. “Prices have gone up and organisations are doing everything they can to get them down again. The whole ethical, sustainable piece is the longer-term plan but there’s been a bit of short-term upheaval.” Implementing effective measures, though, can lead to reduced costs in the long run, she adds, as well as reducing the risk organisations face from their supply chains. RS Group plc has been listed in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, placing us within the top 15% of companies in our industry. The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook is based on S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), an annual evaluation of companies’ sustainability practices. It is widely considered to be the world’s most comprehensive publication on corporate sustainability and aims to distinguish companies within their industries that have demonstrated strong progress in corporate sustainability. It only includes 733 companies out of the 9,000+ that took part in the CSA. Andrea Barrett, our VP of Social Responsibility and Sustainability: “We’re thrilled that RS Group has been included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for the first time. Our inclusion is down to our colleagues’ tireless efforts to deliver our 2030 ESG action plan and advance sustainability in our operations, packaging and logistics, while collaborating with our suppliers to offer our customers more sustainable products and service solutions. This is another significant milestone in our ESG journey, positioning us as a sustainability leader and setting us apart from our industry peers with our key stakeholders.” #Sustainability #CPGlobalSustainabilityYearbook #WeAreRS #RSGroup
Five key reminders for #SaferInternetDay ✋ Shared by Madeleine Presland, Information Security Awareness Apprentice. Discover her essential tips and understand the ongoing significance of prioritizing online safety, today and every day! She told us, "I think it's important to stay vigilant, not just to keep your own data and devices safe but also those of your friends and family. Cybercriminals think up new ways to attack every day, so making a few small changes to your daily practices can really help." 👉 Use two-factor authentication: Set up two-factor authentication where possible, it's a great way to add layers of security to your accounts. 👉 Let sleeping Bluetooth lie: If you are not using Bluetooth switch it off. Bluetooth's vulnerabilities can allow data to be siphoned off your device. 📱 👉 Keep off the beaten track: Disable location tracking on each app. A recent study of almost 1 million Android phones demonstrated that apps regularly harvested tracking data. 👉 Think before you click: Before you click on a link in an email or text/WhatsApp message phishing attacks are a common method of cyber-attacks. 👉 Delete recorded conversations: Regularly delete any recorded conversations using systems such as Alexa or Google. Be aware of how these systems are set up and what controls can be put in place. There have been cases where Alexa has revealed personal data to unknown persons without consent. 🗣️ #SaferOnTheInternet #WeAreRS #SaferInternetDay

To avoid the worst impacts of climate change, we must keep global warming below a maximum of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement. To achieve this, we need to decarbonise on a global scale. This requires businesses to develop robust net zero strategies throughout the value-chain to accelerate sustainable systems. We caught up with Andrea Barrett (VP Social Responsibility & Sustainability) and Christian Horn (Chief Product & Supply Chain Officer) to discuss what net zero means to RS and what actions we’re taking across our global operations and in our value chain to accelerate climate action and deliver our decarbonisation plans. #ESG #Decarbonisation #WeAreRS #RSGroup #ForABetterWorld
