Meet Tom Walton — a brilliant example of what’s possible when hard work meets opportunity. Tom started his career with Serco as a Prison Officer at HMP Doncaster back in 2016. Meet Lauren – another inspiring member of our team here at Serco! ✨ As Team Leader for the Graphics and Print team at the Defence Academy of the UK, Lauren’s career has flourished with continuous growth, from Graphic Designer to Lead Designer and now Team Leader. Her path reflects dedication, passion, and the drive to pursue her ambitions. Reflecting on her experience in the Women in Defence mentoring programme, Lauren shared: 🎙️ “I didn’t realise the extent of the benefit I’d get from the programme at this early stage of my career. When it comes to people with the drive to succeed, Temitope’s name comes to mind. Joining HMP Thameside as a Prison Custody Officer, he was one of the first PCOs at Serco to earn a Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification. Since then, he’s progressed through the ranks and was recently promoted to an Assistant Director position at the prison. Alongside a demanding day job, he’s also just completed a master’s degree in Applied Criminology at the University of Cambridge. 🎙️ “I’ve always looked beyond my immediate role,” Temitope explains, reflecting on his journey. “Your role as a Prison Officer is not just about locking and unlocking doors.
