Update regarding our CEO, Bryan Dove
In our recent survey across the UK, US and Australia, we can reveal that price still matters most to people when considering travel in the future.
A message of hope from our CEO, Bryan Dove. “In this time of crisis, we know that travel is impossible for many of you. At Skyscanner, we cannot mindfully encourage you to explore the world right now, but I wanted to share my case for hope and optimism about what’s on the other side.”
Skyscanner’s design system, ‘Backpack’, played a crucial role in enabling our recent brand refresh. In the latest post on our Engineering blog, Shaun Donnelly looks at how having a design system helped Skyscanner with its makeover— and could help your business in the same way. Check it out 👇
Skyscanner offices with the most Halloween spirit 👻? Definitely Miami and Budapest 👇👌👏 And on this unique holiday, we'd just like to remind you to use Skyscanner to search for frights, motels, and killer car (hire deals)...
Last week was Inclusion Week at Skyscanner. We held a series of events aimed at helping us understand more about our team’s needs and create great digital experiences for ALL of our travellers. As well as hosting a superb talks series, we set up empathy labs in both our London and Glasgow offices to help our team members empathise more deeply with travellers experiencing permanent, temporary or situational disabilities. We had goggles that simulate different visual impairments, gloves that simulate arthritis in hands, and software that simulates common conditions such as dyslexia, colour blindness and bright sunlight. Using screen readers, keyboard-only controls and the odd pretend baby, we recreated situations which are everyday realities for many of our travellers. The labs were a big success and we collected loads of ideas on how to make our products more accessible – check out the photos below for some Inclusion Week goodness 😊
