PC Henry received the 2025 Thames Valley Police Federation Bravery Award for his courageous actions off duty. In January 2023, while driving home after a 12-hour shift, he noticed a man dangerously walking on a motorway bridge in freezing, dark conditions. When the man jumped onto the live motorway, PC Henry quickly responded by dragging the seriously injured man to safety despite the risk from fast-moving traffic. Officer Represents Police in World’s Toughest Motorcycle Trial Thames Valley Police officer, PC Steve Lane, alongside two Metropolitan Police colleagues, recently participated in the renowned Scottish Six Day Trial (SSDT), representing the Police in the “Services Category.” The SSDT, hailed as the toughest motorcycle trial globally, challenges riders with up to 100 miles of rugged terrain each day for six consecutive days – navigating rough moorlands, rocky tracks, and public roads under the unpredictable Scottish Highlands weather. Unlike motocross or speedway, motorcycle trials focus on skilfully traversing a course with obstacles like logs and rocks, penalising riders for putting their feet down. It’s a test of control and precision, not speed. The SSDT amplifies this with the added challenge of long-distance reliability, pushing the limits of riders’ endurance and their machines’ durability.
Reflecting on Pride Month: Celebrating Together During Pride Month, many of our colleagues proudly celebrated alongside the vibrant community at various events across Banbury, Oxford, Witney, Milton Keynes, and Reading. Our participation highlighted the progress made in the quest for equality and reaffirmed our commitment to diversity and inclusion within our workplace. It was truly inspiring to witness our colleagues coming together, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.
