Tokio Marine HCC today announced that Nick Pastor has joined Tokio Marine HCC as Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary effective April 13, 2020, reporting to Tom Weist, Tokio Marine HCC’s Co-Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Pastor will be based in Houston. “We are very pleased to name Nick Pastor as Tokio Marine HCC’s next Chief Actuary. He possesses extensive actuarial experience, which will benefit us as we continue to grow and expand our portfolio of specialty insurance businesses, and is an outstanding addition to our already talented team of professionals at Tokio Marine HCC,” said Susan Rivera, Tokio Marine HCC’s Chief Executive Officer.
Tokio Marine HCC today announced it has signed a purchase agreement to acquire managing general agent GCube, a leading renewable energy risks specialist. The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions, is expected to close in the second quarter of 2020. Tyler Dorfner, Emma Rosenberg and Eric Reinhard have joined Tokio Marine HCC - Surety Group in Los Angeles as the company’s first Underwriting Trainees. As Underwriting Trainees, they will gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in Underwriting, Claims, IT and Finance. The Underwriting Trainee program is under the direction of Vice President, Contract Bond Underwriting Dan Aguilar and includes networking opportunities, participation in company events, and opportunities to participate in corporate social responsibility activities. After successfully completing the first year of the program and achieving the Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB) designation, Trainees progress during the second year into a staff-level Underwriter position at one of the Tokio Marine HCC – Surety Group branch locations. Tokio Marine HCC today announced that Susan Rivera has been appointed its next Chief Executive Officer effective September 1, 2018, replacing Christopher J.B. Williams, the Company’s current Chief Executive Officer, as he transitions into a new role as Managing Executive Officer and Co-Head of International Business for Tokio Marine Holdings, Inc. Ms. Rivera has served as Tokio Marine HCC's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since April 1, 2018. From 2014 to 2015, she served as an independent director on the Company’s Board of Directors and served on the Audit Committee, the Compensation Committee and the Enterprise Risk Oversight Committee.
