Inclusion for All is one of our Purpose pillars and is a huge part of how we’re working to become the #1 place to work. Alongside the incredible work of our people networks, our UK #Diversity & #Inclusion (D&I) Team is there to drive a more inclusive Vodafone through a range of policies, activities and initiatives. That's why we've invested into growing and developing the team, working alongside our D&I Manager, to include a new Programme Manager to coordinate the initiatives and a dedicated Lead for LGBT+, Gender Equality, Disability & Accessibility and Race Equity. Plus, each team member is responsible across all those areas for overseeing a D&I pillar, such as Attraction & Recruitment, Education & Awareness, Progression & Retention and Process, Policy & Data. #TogetherWeCan
At Vodafone, we aim to bring our purpose to life by using charity leave days to help support our communities and good causes. We’ve seen great recent examples of this, such as with our investment with the The Trussell Trust, where on our recent Spirit of Vodafone Day over 300 of our people gave up time to help pack up boxes of much needed goods, and some have also used their charity days to spend more time supporting this cause. We've also seen many of our people sign up to support with volunteering for local community sports clubs this year via our partnership with Sported. And to make 'Giving Something Back' even better, staring from 1 January 2024, our people have an additional two days per year to give back to causes that they care about. That’s a total of five Giving Something Back days per year, available to all permanent employees, full time or part time - which is on top of our four Spirit of Vodafone Days, and annual leave allowances. We are pleased to share that we have partnered with MenoHealth and Julie Robinson, the Best Menopause Support Service in the Healthcare & Pharma Awards 2023, and will be providing an informative programme that focuses on both the physical and mental wellbeing symptoms that people go through. We will be running monthly one-hour virtual sessions for all our people to attend. Whether they’re experiencing symptoms, or they’re a line manager or colleague that wants improve their education, the sessions are open to all our people to learn more. The first session was held yesterday, which covered all the stages of menopause, how to recognise the symptoms, surgical and early menopause. At Vodafone, we have been delivering Mental Health First Aid training since early 2019 when we made it a core part of our Wellbeing strategy. We have a number of Mental Health First Aiders who volunteer their time to support our people whenever they need it. It's great to have such a strong, confident group of people involved in helping those who need mental health related support, all of which is governed by our training courses and wellbeing network. October marks Black History Month. An important opportunity to celebrate the vast diversity of African and Caribbean heritage. At Vodafone, our aim is to continue to support initiatives that amplify Black voices and drive dialogue around equity, intersectionality and allyship.
