Co-op was born from a different set of values, and we’re driven by a different set of decisions. We were founded in 1844 by the Rochdale Pioneers – a group of tradesmen who wanted to address inequality and unfairness in their society. Their early Co-op created the principles on which the millions of modern co-operatives all over the world today are run. So, we’ve been doing right by people for over 180 years.
