I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Insilico Medicine (Atlanta, GA) in Oct 2024
Interview
Very strange and I question how sound this company is, something seems off.
First 'screen' asked incredibly vague questions expecting very finite answers. E.g. asked how long it would take to write a manuscript if all data was ready. I responded with 'it depends' and listed the myriad of factors affecting duration of generating a manuscript. Screener prodded saying 'yes well still how long would it take you to write'. I asked what timeline the company expects, and they said 'it depends' and regurgitated the same factors I listed.
I asked about compensation and they shared nothing. I didn't hear an update for 2+ weeks and then randomly asked for a peer meeting with their other scientific writer. That meeting was with a Boston-based employee, who seemed to provide some credibility for the work, but still was not given any information about the compensation.
I got a 'thank you/positive feedback' from initial recruiter about this peer meeting, and radio silence when I continued asking about compensation.
2+ weeks later I was told they were not moving forward.
No relocation would be offered for moving to their Boston office, by the way.
I have 8+ years scientific writing experience, an MSPH in Epi and PhD in Biology.
