Pros

Great colleagues Good location Caring to patients Some great line managers

Cons

No idea what senior management do, Claire Murdock communicates as well as a brick. Get panicked at any mention of CQC visiting and desperately try to sort out all the improvements / recommendations they should have done previously. Predictable trust wife panic and well paid management responding stupidly and causing work for everyone else at least every 6 months - it’s hilarious. HR team abysmal, slow, unacceptable Far too many band 8s and above who seem to get plenty of development and promotions yet spend all day it ineffective meetings or pretending they making important spreadsheets, yet usually delegate the actual work to the trusts administrators to actually do. Lower band staff treated like they don’t exist , no recognition, almost no development or career progression , yet simultaneously prattle on about their people plan Lot of people get away with not doing their job or being incompetent. Managers allowed to WFH when others in the team are not. Makes having an effective and visible leader, well, impossible. Pedantic point but, Calibri font is used everywhere, where NHS guidance requires arial etc. In a similar vein, many trust documents looks like they were created by a two year old in the 90s.

Pros

Eye opener, where not to be.

Cons

Bully behaviour is tolerated and encouraged by management; Cases of staff burnout not supported/ investigated (management will reword absence causes on documentation anyway), Pay cuts on bank hours as per administrative bullies wishes (with management consent); Blame culture + mind games + constant gossiping = sick place ... And even when you leave your job you still have problems with HR giving you wrong information, constant chase for the right information, etc.

Pros

I cannot think of any pros!

Cons

1) Hard work is not recognised, you are used until you get frustrated and leave 2) Career progression is not based on merit for your hard work, its based on if your face fits in and who your friends are 3) Too many people progressing to higher bands with no clinical or managerial experience 4) Cultural clicks among teams - not enough cultural diversity within the team 5) Poor patient care - Due to the bed pressures, patients are admitted for a few days then are pushed out with poor community support. This leads them to being readmitted back to hospital. 6) Too many band 8's doing the same job and not enough front line staff. Not enough of these band 8's come from clinical nursing backgrounds 7) Bullying and rudeness from managers with a strong blame culture 8) Trust is very biased towards boroughs i.e. there is more preference towards boroughs in inner London such as Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea which are rich and affluent compared to outer London boroughs such as Brent which are poor and deprived 9) The trusts main focus is on creating bed capacity rather than focusing on patient care working in conjunction with the four trust values 10) The trust not being able to retain staff due to poor support from management 11) Poor work/ life balance and not a happy place for staff 12) Managers working from home and spending all their time in meetings when nothing good comes from these meetings 13) Poor communication between front line staff and management 14) Shortage of staff due to high burnout and poor support
