      Pros

      - Located in the center of Edinburgh - Good starting salary relative to other IT Jobs - Friendly and supportive colleagues and superiors - IT and other career progression options - Some hybrid working

      Cons

      - Long hours (12), and rotation pattern can be brutal. - Not very intellectually stimulating or creative. - Expensive location, so if you are living independently, you will need to commute in. - Hybrid working is very minimal. - Fulffilment relies on ticket-based system (small dopamine hits)

      OK base salary OK colleagues Managers aren't unpleasant

      Cons

      Life revolves around work Shift pattern messes up sleep pattern Pay & hiring freeze because company didn't increase profits as much as they'd like. Misleads about internal progression opportunities Very poor utilisation of current staff with some shifts very short staffed with others well overstaffed on assignments of secondary importance to understaffed shifts. Management adding needless beurocracy and processes to justify their position and salary. No development of transferable skills excluding 'soft skills' that could be acquired in any other office job.
