Pros

Overall good work / life balance Nice office in a central location with snacks and lunch twice a week Good calibre of brands Some great benefits

Cons

Way too top heavy in management Senior leadership do not take feedback very seriously and seem to be exempt from rules given to everyone else They’re consistently trying to get to work faster but in a way that compromises quality They’re not set up for good production capabilities The environment is now very very corporate

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback. Yikes, we definitely don’t think we’re past our peak - there is so much exciting stuff in the works - including production! But it’s important and valuable to hear if that’s how it’s feeling to you right now. Getting to better work faster is absolutely not about prioritising speed over quality - it’s about agility as we scale, spending less time in emails and meetings and more time making work we love! But it’s a good watch out for us to be aware of. We totally agree that our people and culture are what makes Born Social special. Corporate is not the vibe we’re going for and we passionately believe in holding leaders to the same, if not higher, standards of behaviour and impact. If you want to chat about this to help us understand this more, we’d really like that.

Pros

Talented team mates, ambitious company goals, big clients, good benefits, kind and inclusive culture, good feedback culture and people management. I had a great time working with the teams I was in and met loads of great people. Potential for amazing ideas and executions

Cons

Bad processes are holding the creative ideas back and wasting time and money, There is a lot of talk about changing structures but no real evidence of the change. There are redundancies in resourcing but that is the weakest in terms of the work being split up efficiently and executed. Briefing is unclear and not set up for collaboration and then people want to shift the blame. Creatives are super talented but the production process doesn’t allow for the work to be at the level they want it to be. When a client has to much money they dictate unreasonable asks and there isn’t enough push back. The work suffers and people get burnt out. Personally I didn’t get a lot of satisfaction from the work

Hi - we really appreciate you sharing such thoughtful feedback. You make some good and fair points around tension between process and output. It's a challenge most agencies grapple with, especially as they scale too 200 . As you've mentioned its something we've been candid about really focussing on in the second half of this year and this work is definitely starting to pay off. Thanks again for your review - especially for all your positive words on our ambition, people and culture. We agree on that too!
