Pros
I completed the programme and joined as a trainee data analyst and honestly found the whole experience so much fun and incredibly valuable. The training covered key tools like SQL, Python and data visualisation and it’s structured in a way that builds your confidence quickly, even if you’re coming from a non-traditional background (like me!) One of the best parts for me was the people. I made some great friends in my cohort and was lucky enough to be placed with them at the same organisation for a few years, which made such a difference to the overall experience. The socials are always a good time too, and things like the awards nights are a really nice touch. The delivery team kept in touch with me throughout my time as a data analyst and I always felt genuinely supported and looked after. I’m really sad to be leaving because Digital Futures has had such a meaningful impact on me, both personally and professionally. It’s given me opportunities I don’t think I would have had otherwise, and I’ll always be incredibly grateful for that. I also had amazing support from my mentor (pre-programme) and the wider team. You can really feel that people care about your progress and want you to do well. I always felt comfortable asking questions and learning from those around me which made such a difference. The client placement side is also a HUGE highlight obviously. Getting that real-world corporate experience so early on completely changed my confidence and made breaking into the industry feel achievable
Cons
The pace can be quite fast at times, so you need to be proactive with your learning and stay on top of the material. Also, as with any placement-based programme, experiences can vary slightly depending on the client you’re matched with, but I still wouldn't change a thing.
