Pros

My team (at a store level) is the biggest Pro, i would not being working there if it wasn't for them.

Cons

Long hours and as managers you are salaried so no hope in earning anything extra, now expected to do 2 hour stock counts weekly that take 4 hours btw, Apparently you can take those hours back by leaving early.... that's funny and also not possible in a 9-5 store. We are short staffed, mental health is just broken, company doesn't communicate, and god help you if you have a payroll problem because they wont talk to us little people. The most heart breaking thing is when i see young enthusiastic newbies who wont to aspire to do so much and the rest of us take bets of when that light will go out because the company has destroyed it, by no means are we rooting for you to fail, but once you see that the 'good life' is just a propaganda slogan you start to lose that fight to make positive changes to the company because no one is listening.

Pros

The only pro I can think of is the training that you receive. Although it can be hit and miss with some employees depending on what area you're working in and what role.

Cons

Prepare to be bombarded by KPIs and targets, you need to sell this with this, increase on this, 4 item link sale, Rewards for Life cards, magazines, samples, customer feedback cards is just a few of the things you have to remember. There's always a shortage of staff so be prepared if you're management to not have a lot of time off if any. You're never acknowledged for the work that you do and the time that you put in or rewarded for it. The area manager is always on your back asking why something hasn't been done, why you haven't met a certain target etc. Just all in all very stressful along with all the tests and training updates that you have to do in between.
