Pros

Super inclusive environment and culture. People willing to help with anything. Company will fund knowledge extensions e.g. site visits and conferences. Given proper responsibility.

Cons

Took a month at least to feel like the work getting done was meaningful. Too easy to work from home, so office can feel empty.

Love this review (thank you for taking the time) - the environment and culture is certainly what sets National Gas apart from other businesses - everyone is genuinely willing to help, support, and are super-friendly and down to earth! We're so pleased to hear you've experienced this too! We want to invest in our staff with training and courses so you have a long and meaningful progressive career with us, and we're also keen to ensure we continue to be as inclusive as possible. Also great to hear you enjoy coming into the office - especially as a graduate we recognise that in order for you to learn and develop it's important to have face-to-face time with as many people and teams as possible, to build those relationships, hear what's going on and see what other people do and how they work. We're keen for our staff to 'be in the office more than they're out' ideally as we hugely value face-to-face time for collaboration and personal development. Everyone has their part to play in this - being present, being open, creating that special culture of helping and developing others, and ideally in person for some of the week - our mental health is too important and our individual personalities too special to hide at home all the time!!

Cons

* Limited onboarding and induction within the Commercial & Supply Chain team. * Lack of clarity around roles, responsibilities and expectations. * Insufficient access to systems, processes and project information during the early stages of employment. * Role experienced in practice did not fully align with expectations set during recruitment. * Limited structured support, feedback and development discussions. * Communication and knowledge sharing could be improved. * Career progression pathways were not always clear. * Some projects lacked established commercial processes or clear ownership. * Employee concerns could be addressed more proactively rather than reactively.
