Pros

EAs, RMs, BMs all care about participants and making a difference in the community. Work hard and do their best, all work to support each other and get along well.

Cons

Upper management (OMs+) only care about performance and targets but the jobs are marketed as roles where you can help people, not boost numbers. Managers are overly critical and don't give you room to breathe despite everyone having a caseload 20-40 people over what it should be as per DWP contract. The "support" they offer is basically a babysitting service. Condescending, they have destroyed my confidence in my own ability to do a job I was thriving in prior to management change.

Pros

Some really wonderful people to work with, and plenty of opportunities to grow as a person. There are opportunities for progression, and training is provided in several areas. There are moments that are genuinely great, and you feel like you belong to a big family.

Cons

It all depends on the higher management you work with. If they have small‑man syndrome, a “not my problem” attitude, or believe they should be admired by everyone because they’re so pretty and smart, you’re in trouble. HR is a function that exists to support, not to genuinely resolve issues or advise on meaningful solutions. The blame culture is impossible to ignore, and you may be unlucky enough to work with someone who enjoys seeing how many people they can make leave, cry, or raise grievances against them. For a company that wants you to believe they are supportive and value work–life balance, it’s ironic that you’ll get more benefit from a back rest than from HR or your manager. Having long service with Reed means very little — you can still be dropped as quickly as Finance can crunch their numbers.
