Pros

Fantastic training, salary is low but reasonable, some flexibility to working, and the benefit of working for a good cause and helping local people.

Cons

Gives the impression they care for participants however in reality it’s a numbers game to earn money. Extremely poor and incompetent management who don’t actually understand the day to day of the contract. Home working but at the cost of intense micro-management to the detriment of employee productivity. There is unfortunately a bullying culture that has taken hold in some contracts and is delivered specifically through certain managers who thrive managing through fear. More concerning factor is that senior management and HR turn a blind eye to this. High turnover of staff due the above issues.

Awful since management change

Pros

EAs, RMs, BMs all care about participants and making a difference in the community. Work hard and do their best, all work to support each other and get along well.

Cons

Upper management (OMs+) only care about performance and targets but the jobs are marketed as roles where you can help people, not boost numbers. Managers are overly critical and don't give you room to breathe despite everyone having a caseload 20-40 people over what it should be as per DWP contract. The "support" they offer is basically a babysitting service. Condescending, they have destroyed my confidence in my own ability to do a job I was thriving in prior to management change.
