Pros

Meals on duty, complimentary nights

Cons

Everything. I need to highlight how accurate is a previous review on this site: “Guest satisfaction is not a priority, the management is only focused on numbers therefore the team is constantly working under pressure. No matter how hard the day has been, if you don't bring them numbers you are taken to the small office and shouted for half an hour (after your shift has ended). If you are not liked by someone within the management team, you are taken to this small office everyday and told off, until you give up and resign.” It is also true that only poor skilled people are getting promoted and their only skill is to “report” and being the bad cop of the situation. Management is really bad and Front Office managers do not want to work on Weekends, which gives a horrible example and also do not care about your wellbeing. Andaz London Liverpool Street DOES NOT respect the Hytt company motto: we care for people so they can be their best, that is an absolute joke in their case.

Pros

The company offers 12 nights stay at any Hyatt in the world, but you need to have worked a year with them before you can request. Breaks of 30 mins with cafeteria food. Uniform cleaning service.

Cons

There is an imbalance between the Restaurant and the Bar staff although they belong to the same department. No holidays off ever! Cafeteria food is either old, cold or burnt. Pay is really poor, considering the amount time you spend there. Permanent staff is paid per month, not hour, even though sometimes they end up staying longer than their shift, whereas casual staff is paid hourly, minimum wage, but doesn't have any extra benefits. Management is poor, there aren't any leaders and instead of fixing existing problems they pile up new tasks for the staff. Severely understaffed, puts a lot of pressure on the employees. Cash tips and Service Charge are all shared so it doesn't really matter how much you run, you will end up with little to no service since it is shared with managers and back of house staff. they use an old operating system which slows everything down since it crashes once a day. There is no way you can advance in the department.
