Pros

- I have found employement with Sparta Global - My experiecne was mainly positive with the exception of what I have wrote below.

Cons

- I was forced to write fake reviews here on glassdoor using my own email. -While i say I was forced, I was called to a room with a memeber of managment and asked to write a review of my experience at Sparta. While I logged onto glassdoor they immediatly came and sat next to be and watched me write to review, this was obviousy done to imtimidate me into wirting a falsly positive review. They even suggested some topics 'I could mention' while checking the reviews on glassdoor next week I noticed 2 other very similar reviews , which I expect again were made under coercion. I have not heard of any other Spartans being made to do this. -It happened sometime in 2019, I dont want to specify the actual post as Im afraid of any backlash like losing my placement. -Id advise anyone who reads some reviews on here to take them with a grain of salt.

Pros

You meet good people in training that’s about it

Cons

The company is an actual joke, the trainer treats you like your back in primary school. I completed the training only for them to review me on the last day and say you ain’t suitable for the job. It was not only me who got withdrawn, there were a few other members. I felt that they did this because they had no clients and that they recruited to many people. The job description posted online is all lies. They have no demand for clients. They will tell you on the assessment day that they work with different clients but there were no sign of them. They don’t support you in terms of costs so realistically you are left with hardly any money. The training itself was poor as it was read from a PowerPoint slide with no meaning. If you want to become a business analyst, then apply elsewhere because Sparta expect you to learn testing and do roles in testing. The fact that they tie you down for two years with no promotion or wage increase is just poor. Sparta just wasted my time and I would just like to let everyone know that this ain’t what it seems.

Pros

- If you want to go into software testing then chances are they will have opportunities for you, anything else (including DevOps, software development, business analysis, project management) will probably be put into software testing job roles at the end of your courses - Management are nice to your face as long as you do what they want but if you have interests that go against what they want chances are they won't listen - Other people on your course make it bearable

Cons

- On the business analysis stream but put into software testing roles even after being promised not to be, while on the bench spoke to other employees who were also placed into placements they never wanted against their will - False promises told during interview including salary expectations, available jobs and how much freedom you will have to go into your chosen field (you have no choice, they will threaten you into taking roles you don't want) also, more importantly was told the chances of being placed outside of london were slim and I would not have to relocate during interview and training however once training finished I was forced to go into interviews outside of London - Spartan Testimonials on the website are fake as I know the people who supposedly stated those things - Before signing the contract, read through it fully and request the employee handbook as they did not provide this for me until I requested it, you will then see how limited you will be on the placements they put you on - Forced to go into the academy while on the bench even though this was never mentioned in the contract, tried to argue this but they said it was necessary even though while in the academy I did not gain anything as no training was provide, pretty sure this was just to keep an eye on employees while on the bench - From my group only 2 people were placed into a placement after the training course including me (originally a group of 12) - Personally I was screwed over every time it was beneficial for Sparta - If you have any concerns about this company I would suggest talking to actual Spartans who have been through the two years or are currently on-site as they will have be more truthful than anyone related to Management from Sparta All in all, if you are looking to get into software testing and have no other options this may be the place for you but for anything else, avoid like the plague

Thanks for your feedback on your experience here at Sparta. As a business it is in our best interest to place the Spartans that we train, because by the time you finish the course, we have already invested a huge amount in your development and training which is completely free of charge. The aim of the company and sales is to place you in a role best suited to your course and also factoring in your capabilities. By the sounds of it, I am pleased you got 2 years worth of client experience on site and this will always be useful when you look for your next role. I am glad Sparta has set you up for success in the future. Our placement statistics are worth talking about here. On the last BA course we placed all trainees by the last day and on the last SDET course we placed all trainees on the course when there were still 3 days left to go. This shows that all the checks and balances and preparation of trainees we have put in place is prving to be a huge success.
