The Speechmatics Leadership Team are incredibly passionate about two things: firstly bringing deep learning services to the world in a sustainable, open and accessible way and secondly developing the skills, career and opportunity that our team members have from being part of such a fast-growth, cutting edge business. Is our day-to-day life always smooth, perfect and predictable? Clearly not. We are a fast-growth innovator and sometimes we hit speed bumps. But even with these speed bumps, we deliberately focus our time and energy balancing technological research and innovation with the commercial success of the business and the well-being and development of our people. Significant and important changes have been made over the past months to move the business from a startup into the scaleup stage of accelerated growth and if we have handled things in a way that is upsetting to you we would genuinely like to understand your concerns. The growth we are seeing from winning significant new customers is providing high levels of revenue growth and also significant career opportunities for everyone across the business. Our growth and the new customers we are winning are better than ever and I can tell you honestly that we do believe in the company and the change we are making in the world. Your review implies you’ve left us and if you have – we’re truly sorry you didn’t feel you could raise your concerns with us before deciding to leave us, or within your exit interview, so we could discuss these with you. We are sorry though that with your positive comments about line managers that you have not felt able to resolve your areas of concern with them directly. It is true that we are developing and growing and that this brings change and evolution as a business. We are particularly sorry to hear that some of the tone of our messaging has not landed well with you but of course this was most certainly not our intention. We hope our replies below have been informative and clear but we will of course be mindful of your feedback in any future comms. We are investing in hiring so that teams are resourced appropriately and with our newly appointed CTO, enhancing engineering processes throughout.
