Pros

.The creative team is full of great people .Great social events, well organized and well thought out. .Some good opportunities to film charities

Cons

.Unless you become good mates with management, the best opportunities will not be given to you. .Don't expect a pay rise. I asked for a pay rise persistently for a year, but it was always "Sorry we'll look into that" and nothing. I finally got to talk to a creative director about it and I was told that they basically didn't know if I deserved it and that my soon to be new line manager would be asked to watch me for the next couple of months so he could assess if I should get a pay rise. I'd been at Lewis for almost 2 years and you're telling me you didn't know if I could have a raise or not? Then of course my new line manager was not ever even officially made my line manager so it was clearly a blatant lie to keep me quiet for a bit. Many others I know were also looking for a pay rise and had no luck too. .Anything the CEO says goes, no one ever tells him no. It doesn't matter if it's almost impossible to do, will ruin a pitch, or mess up a video, management will do absolutely anything he wants. .Absolutely no structure in place for career growth. .Basically no structure at all. My line manager barely ever talked to me (I feel he may have been overworked in fairness). . People are let go and or fired like it's nothing, in the first couple of months working at Lewis 2 out of the 4 video staff were let go, I know a key member of staff who's a very hard worker who'd been there for well over a decade was even sized up to be let go. I made a mistake losing some audio on an internal event and I had two people who were meant to have audio backups but somehow it didn't get recorded either and like that 2 years of good work were worth nothing to them, no warning, no negotiation, straight dismissal. Oh and the bonus that all staff who'd worked the full financial year (which I did) was taken away too. .Management acts like they care but they don't. On my last day after working my notice, many people did say goodbye and were very supportive and lovely. Both Creative directors didn't even bother to say goodbye to me.

Pros

The only good thing is the art work on the walls made by nearby university students.

Cons

Everything you can think of. Please read the reviews before joining there is a dream sold to get staff on board and 2/3 days after you arrive you will realise it is utter crap and wish you stayed where you were previously. The pay is bad for existing staff, so bad they take their anger out on the new recruits. Specifically the assistant aka throw rocks hide your hand cry baby, gobby. The company is a large group of pathetic ‘adults’ who act like teenagers with big egos, that cry every time they are challenged. Very cliquey and gives the vibe of a retail job. They want staff members to kiss their feet and conform to their company ‘culture’ (sit in silence, overtime & poor coffee) so they search for the best ‘fit’. I.e those who are quiet and too scared to stand up for themselves. They don’t even like each other, they constantly ask you questions to see who they can get rid of next. Imagine working for a company in 2023 that use Black people to promote their charity but doesn’t acknowledge Black History Month? You have to laugh. Pathetic.

Pros

I can honestly say, beyond this starting my career there were no pros when it came to working at Team Lewis. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Cons

Team Lewis is stuck in the past. During my time at Lewis I met a handful of individuals that actually cared about people. This is a place that runs on popularity, favouritism and quiet bullying. Current employees are also asked to leave ‘positive’ glassdoor reviews the improve their current ranking. You have to be present, ‘favourite’ and show your face, in order to get recognition. Your work alone will get you nowhere unless you become best friends with those of importance. If you don’t, you’ll go unrecognised. There are talented people at Lewis, but sadly the culture of work gets in the way. If you don’t buy into the culture, you get left the heavy lift in terms of workload. They give the best and most exciting clients to their ‘favourites’, and the rest get crumbs. Suspiciously, they like to make new roles for those ‘popular’ individuals that so try to leave. If I could sum Lewis up in one word, it would be cult. For those applying to Lewis… have faith that you will get a job elsewhere. Stay true to yourself, and go for what you deserve. And that is not Team Lewis.
