Pros

Unlimited Annual Leave and Free Lunch. The staff not at "Head Of" or Director" level are amazing

Cons

I worked at Virgin and Virgin Red for a number of years. Here are my multiple cons: - I had multiple managers at one point, followed by 0 managers, followed by a manager who had no idea what my role was when the rest of my team left due to stress - I was frequently moved from team to team, with managers who had no idea what my role was - I applied for a job at senior level, having been told I should, only for the business to remove the role after my interview and instead tie the responsibilities into another role for which they hired externally - My manager admitted they set me up to fail on a specific task by having no paper trail requesting the task and never mentioning it more than in a brief passing conversation which meant she could put me on a personal development programmed - Anyone at chief level never speaks to anyone below director level, showing a complete lack of understanding how those who actually do the work are - There were great Christmas Parties and even parties at Richard Bransons estate, but to save money they were scrapped I would not recommend this as a place to work if it is still like the aboveq

Pros

Pay is good. Interesting problems to work on. Nice people.

Cons

Lots of red tape and entrenched views. Some people have been at Virgin for decades and are resistant to changing anything.

We’re chuffed to hear you’re enjoying the work, the people, and that the pay hits the mark. It means a lot to know you’re finding interesting challenges to get stuck into. Thanks for your feedback around red tape – it’s not something we expect to see. We’re a small and innovative team, and we pride ourselves on being bold, courageous and open to fresh thinking. We want everyone to feel they can help shape change and be part of what’s next. If there’s more you’d like to share, we’re all ears – just drop us a line at people.team@virgin.com. – The Virgin People Team

Very Toxic workplace

Pros

Used to be a great place to work, and could be once again, but leadership is non-existent

Cons

No strategy Total chaos Massively overworked Cronyism is the norm, senior leaders have brought in their mates who are incompetent, and they in turn push all of the workload down. All opportunities go to external candidates, big issues with the hiring policies as they are all useless. Then the business has the audacity to ask you to do the job you wanted, but told you could not do, because of incompetent hires. Burnout is rife with a never ending stream of people taking time out for work related stress. Everyone below director level is unhappy and looking at getting out. Find somewhere else, its not worth it! Record profits leads to rounds of redundancies despite mega high workloads, and continual below inflation pay increases, yet always asking for more and more

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. We’re really sorry to hear this is how things have felt – it doesn’t reflect the culture we’re proud of. At Virgin, we're proud of creating a supportive, inclusive and empowering environment – one where everyone can thrive, feel trusted, and be part of something bigger. If that’s not what you experienced, we'd love to understand why – and we genuinely welcome the chance to hear more. You can reach us in confidence at people.team@virgin.com. – The Virgin People Team
