Thanks for taking the time to share your review. We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed your time with Virgin Unite and that the opportunity to connect with such talented people stood out. At Virgin Unite, bringing people together is a huge part of what makes the work so special. Connecting bold ideas with real-world action means collaborating with inspiring partners, communities and colleagues who are passionate about creating positive change. It’s brilliant to hear those connections made such an impact during your time with us. You also shared that you found the culture political and biased. That doesn’t reflect the culture we strive to create or the values that guide us every day. We want Virgin to be a place where everyone feels they belong, where different perspectives are welcomed, and where people feel trusted, respected and able to be themselves. Through our values of Be Human, Be Brave and Be Visionary, we continue to invest in our leaders and teams to help create an environment where everyone can thrive. Thanks again for taking the time to share your perspective. If there’s anything more you’d like to tell us about your experience, we’d genuinely love to hear from you. You can always reach us at people.team@virgin.com. The Virgin People Team

It's not worth it

Pros

Really good benefits, one of the best I've seen. Lot's of opportunity to get stuck into projects and develop skills. Hybrid working.

Cons

The best way I can describe the environment is chaotic. Lines are constantly blurred, projects constantly changing, processes are clunky and the general culture and environment isn't as 'innovative' or 'fun' as you would think. One of the standout issues is management - very little know how to actually manage people and do it in a human way - which is quite ironic given one of the virgin traits is to 'be human'. Too many are falling short here. The workload is out of this world - it's too much! Very little opportunity to progress from your own merits - opportunities are only available when someone leaves. You'd think having Virgin on your CV would be worth the stress, but truthfully it isn't. It's a constant, uphill battle working here.

Thanks for taking the time to share such a detailed review, we really do appreciate hearing how things felt for you. It’s great to hear our benefits and the chance to get stuck into a variety of projects stood out. We’re proud to offer award-winning support for everyone, and being a small team means people can work on meaningful, diverse projects, innovate and make a real impact. That fluidity is very much part of how we work and we know it won’t be for everyone, but it’s something many of our people tell us they love. You’ve also called out a few areas that didn’t land well for you, especially around pace, shifting priorities, and your experience of management. We hear how that could feel, and we appreciate you raising it. We’re a team that moves quickly and makes things happen, which naturally brings change but we want that to feel energising, not overwhelming. On management, we’re committed to helping our leaders live our values; Be Human, Be Brave, Be Visionary, and we continue to invest in leadership and manager training so everyone feels supported, trusted and able to thrive. We never assume the basics, and we’re always working to strengthen how we show up for our people. Progression is equally important to us, and while a smaller team can mean fewer formal steps, we encourage people to grow through stretching projects, new opportunities and developing skills that really make a difference. Thanks again for being open and sharing your perspective. If there’s more you’d like to talk through, we’d genuinely love to hear it, you can always reach us at people.team@virgin.com.
